SPEAKER: Christy Householter, Executive Director, Computers for the Blind
Christy retired in early 2019 from Region 10 Education Service Center, after 35 years in the field of education for students with visual impairments. She began volunteering for Computers for the Blind and soon took on the role of Executive Director. She received her undergraduate and Master’s degree from Stephen F Austin State University and is a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS). She is an active member of Lions Clubs International and Texas Association of Blind Athletes and regularly competes in triathlons and other outdoor adventures. Her and husband John have two children, three grandchildren, and a golden retriever named Cooper.
