Steak and Bean will be Saturday April 21, 2007, at Hart Pool. Social Hour will be 6:00–7:00 pm. Steaks and beans will be on about 7:15 pm. Each Lion can bring 2 guests.

Please RSVP Lion Dave Perella by Friday. Set up will be at 2:30 pm and volunteers are requested. Volunteers will also be requested to help serve. There is no charge as funds for this event come from our Administration Fund.

Colleyville Lions Club Announces the 2006 Scholarship Recipients

The Colleyville Lions Collegiate Scholarship Committee selected six students to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Students are selected based academics, community activity, career goal, financial consideration and individuals that have exhibited the Lions’ pledge “We Serve” through their actions and plans. High School Seniors from GCISD, Carroll ISD, HEB, Keller ISD and Birdville ISD are eligible to apply.

This year’s winners are:

Forty-one applications from area high school seniors were reviewed and considered by the Scholarship Committee. The 2006 Scholarship Committee included Lions Tom Cannon, Michael Muhm, Jerome Davis, General Hank Smyth and Scholarship Chairman Nelson Thibodeaux.

The six finalists will each receive a $1,000 cash scholarship for college related expenses.

Typically, a minimum of four $1,000 Scholarships are awarded to senior high school students annually. These scholarships are open to seniors in the following school districts; Birdville ISD, Carroll ISD, Grapevine/Colleyville ISD, HEB ISD, and Keller ISD. Seniors in parochial and private schools in the same ISD areas are also eligible.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN THE ESTABLISHED DEADLINE. INTERVIEWS OF ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES WILL BE HELD ON A SATURDAY IN COLLEYVILLE.
